mwooooaaam mwoam mwoam mwoooooooaaaaammm mwwwwoooammmm

This pic is from the Jack Beats Myspace
Jack Beats is a new bassline virtuoso!  I stumbled across sick beats blurting out of my browser, a rasping, throaty beat covering Safari in musical saliva molecules.  If you like A1 Bassline, and you like raves and remixes, then I can pretty much guarantee you will like this.  It's like you're in a rave in the 90s BUT THEN mwoooam mwoam mwa-a-a-a-a-a mwoaaaaaam mwooooammmmm *BANGgunshot* MWOOOAM MWOOOAM MWOOOOAM
Jack Beats have remixed Does It Offend You, Boy 8-Bit, A.C Slater, Black Ghosts, and Steed Lord, to name hhhhmmmmBUT A FEW.  This will rape your ears with joyous melodies.

This pic is from the Noemi Myspace
Went on the Pure Groove site and downloaded the 100 free downloads.  The one that really stuck out for me was by this Frenchie songstress Noemi.  Breathy French pop set against surf music, but very much made in 2008.  Showed my flatmate this, who is into 60s French pop and was actually suprised it wasn't from that time.
A sexy song.  Hot hot French singing over smooth surf riffs.  Fuck, it's just impossible to hate.  I'm playing it on repeat at the moment, followed by The Zombies' 'Leave Me Be'.

I also came across a KAVINSKY REMIX of Sebastien Tellier.  That made me cream.

It's got Kavinsky's signture 80s synth but with the sexual pumping beats of Tellier dusted over with sensual vocals that the Terminator would play to his lady to make love to her.  It's what robot sex from the 80's sounds like.

digitalism rrrremix competition!

Ok, so, basically, If you can fiddle about with separates and you think you're a bit good at it then DO IT because Jence and Isi want fans to remix 'Taken Away' from their new album.  Submit before 17 November, and if it's really good the lovely chaps have said they will release it on a CD with other remixes.  If you don't WIN-win, they'll give you loot.  It's worth at least a BIT of a go!  Go to their website for more information plus the separates.

Beat your head against that wall

The original of this somehow never became as annoying as it should have done the amount it was played on the radio over the summer.

We wrote "quasi-gothick-shriekathon" and they decided that shriekathon sounded shit.

Title was approrpiated from a P.i.X interview, the quote mark engulfed bit is Kasms description of their own music. (Full understanding of unquote-marked bits will be arrived @ if you click the pretty blue bit {if you can't work out which blue bit, stop hindering human evolution and try and fuck a plug socket}) I think they play dark, angular, disturbed music, and I know they are an amazing live band. Sorta part of that scene called New Grave by some fucktards.

Just saw this myspace bulletin from let's wrestle. God I love this band.

as you may or may not have seen we have been touring with Broom head McJacket but we have kicked off as we are "impossible to work with" which I don't think is true but each to his own and all that malarky so the rest of the dates with them have been pulled but never fear we are going to be touring with Good bands soon such as Fucked Up and The Vivian Girls two of the coolest bands around at the moment so you should come see us with those guys itll be fucking rad death to the jacket

M I X T A P E ( 2 )

My favourites from this mixtape are tracks 7, 8, 9, 14, and 15.

Wow, that took some T I M E to upload. They're both really different. I'm not going to say who made them for me.

I'm getting more people to make me mixtapes too. If you want to make one for me, feel free!
yeah.

It's weird, the concept of a mixtape. We make them to impress our friends, or a girl or boy, and try to show them music they might like but really it's you that likes all the music and you just want the recipient to think you're well cool, like. wow, sorry this post isn't that funny. I've made up for it though. Click below.

In Other News...Skaghead Elephant

(oh, and remember; you should actually buy music sometimes, folks. Buy it here or here or here. If you like music, help the people that make it to keep on doing their shit.)

Religious coitus of young horses

Foals and Holy Fuck are so gay for each other that they have recorded versions of each others songs while on tour to put out as a little vinyl reminder of their special time together.

Down the road and take a right

By Nicola Pea, stolen from Hatcham Social's Myspace

I am writing this not too far from the Hatcham Social Club. This landmark on my bus route home inspired the christening of Hatcham Social. Despite geographical proximity I have managed to miss out on ever seeing them live, but by all accounts they're pretty damn good. They're playing White Heat soon so I might pop down and see if they're as interesting in person as on record. Literate/Melodic/Dark/Indie/Punkesque/Pop?
